I haven't bought a season pass in years as it's too unpredictable. It's either you get a few DLC's and save a fiver from buying them in the pass together or they'll release one piece of DLC, a soundtrack and maybe a character skin for a 40 euro season pass.

Steam is getting proper season passes support, all DLCs must be listed with expected release dates. If DLC is cancelled, refund for the value of unreleased DLC will be offered.
