I think it's so fascinating how short people's sense of history is. Like this idea that there was a pre-women workplace instead of a relatively brief period of time where women weren't considered to be workers in some places and jobs.

An interesting tidbit in the joint status report filed in the Broadview ICE facility case today:

ICE says video from inside the facility "between October 19, 2025, and October 31, 2025, has been irretrievably destroyed" and can't be produced in discovery.

Defendants have indicated that some video between October 19, 2025, and October 31, 2025, has been irretrievably destroyed and therefore cannot be produced on an expedited basis or at all. Plaintiffs are in the process of hiring an IT contractor. Plaintiffs’ contractor will meet with the government’s ESI Liaison (with attorneys on the phone) to attempt to work through issues concerning the missing video, including whether any content is able to be retrieved. I finished my last chemotherapy treatment. Next steps are getting scans done to see the results.

But I’m just so happy to be done with this brutal part of the journey.

None of us can do everything, but we all can do something. We urge you to support groups fighting for due process or who help immigrants during this siege. News organizations also need our financial support to continue their vital reporting. We covered this city for a living and love it, and we want you to know that what’s happening here is not normal. It’s eroding all of our rights and should be a warning to other cities that find themselves enveloped in an ICE storm.
