Warnock: I hear people attack poor people and act like it’s a crime to be poor, rather than to recognize it’s criminal for so many people to be poor. They do all of this in the name of Jesus… Jesus is the biggest victim of identity theft in the United States

Writers - this is THE book. Read it cover to cover and then zero drafted my book from scratch in under 2 hours. Absolute game changer for my style of writing (planner not pantser).

It's been brought to my attention that if we'll all repost the cartoon with her article's name and substack info below it, Ann Tienaes can better benefit with more clicks.

Writing is an act of rebellion.
Writing is an act of creation.
Writing is an act of salvation.
Writing is an act of exploration.
Writing is an act of emotion.
Writing is an act of confession.
Writing is an act of speculation.
Writing is an act of reflection.
Keep writing.

John Marsden, the gifted Australian writer, has died, aged 74. Marsden wrote over 40 books in his lifetime, including the "Tomorrow, When The War Began" series. 📚 😔

We don't need more remakes of old movies. We need more MUPPETS remakes of old movies.

Bluesky right now feels a little like all the Whos gathering to sing after the Grinch stole their floofloovers and jingtinglers.

6th hour in the #24hourwritingsprint hosted by London Writers Salon.

Progress:
1. clarified my protagonist's true struggle and the real "why" that is driving his wants. This has immediately sharpened so much of the story I had in mind for him.
2. shaped and updated his misbelief origin scene.

Good morning.

If you don't hear from me for a few months it's because I accidentally subscribed to the romancelandia feed and now can't stop reading about tropes and character arcs.

My favourite fact about Iceland is that we have many, many crime writers but only one forensic pathologist, and he was so busy answering all of their questions that he decided to have a small seminar for writers to get some peace.

It immediately sold out so he had another one that also sold out.

My first week on Bluesky and I've never felt more surrounded and motivated by creatives, thinkers, sharers empowering me to write and create.
I've even uninstalled Insta to be completely reel-free and completely embrace my new-found productivity and inspiration.

It's easier to change minds with stories than facts. Facts don't create empathy. A story lets you become another person with their experiences. That's why storytellers are so important.

I interpret a semi-colon as a period hitching a ride on top of a comma to cross a river. The comma's sitting a little low in the water, swimming gamely with its mobile tail. We are pausing here in the sentence to watch while the two little guys get safely across.
