The amount of forex they'd rake in...😭 When I was digital editor at the Nation, the only thing my aunties overseas used to message me about was if the funeral notices section went down. I wasn't even in charge of it! One time it went down for 3 weeks. Diaspora elders gave.me.HELL!
If CBC ever decided to create a channel dedicated to broadcasting funerals that you had to pay for and had a daily programming schedule in the newspaper, I bet that they would make enough money to stabilize NIS
