The LFPA grant was a source of funding we used to purchase food from small, local farms and distribute to food pantries. Having this sales avenue unexpectedly rescinded could devastate small farms and businesses like ours.
With the unplanned axing of the program, small Iowa farmers lose out on fair pay for their crops while food banks and school districts are left even more stretched for fresh, nutritious food amid a cost-of-living crisis.
