I actually encountered one of these hawk moths myself a couple years ago!
I was airing out a room with a lamp on at dusk, and one flew right in my window. It was big enough I thought it was a bat!
I should post pics & video of it if I can find it. They are so adorable IRL! 😍

As Deaf/HoH, I was shocked the first time I learned the *vast majority* who use subtitles are Hearing. Much like relay tech, TTY/VCO, SMS, TCP/IP protocols & bluetooth earbuds a lot of broader utility has expanded from what was originally intended primarily for - or created by - Deaf/HoH & Mute.

Subtitles aren’t just for deaf or hard of hearing players. They’re important for players in loud environments (who can’t use headphones), non-native speakers who rely on text to follow dialogue, and many neurodivergent folks who struggle to focus or process audio quickly. Just to mention few.

His Dark Materials were a big part of what made me obsessed with night skies.

We need to stop centering around reactionary tantrums & lies. They sell junk food for the soul—cheap, easy - what people want to hear. We’re stuck selling "eat your veggies" in their sandbox. Let’s instead build, dream, and create stories that inspire—a feast beyond their empty promises.
Our culture is trapped in a reactive loop, exposing harmful narratives without moving forward. Left-wing YouTube reacts to right-wing content, while media, art, and activism define themselves in opposition. We critique the status quo but fail to propagandize bold, hopeful visions for change.
