For Christians, Easter celebrates God's victory over death. This year, both Western and Eastern churches celebrate Easter on April 20. This is a rare occurrence due to the different calendars used by each. May hope and joy surround those who celebrate, Happy Easter!

Passover, or "Pesach" in Hebrew, is an eight-day (or seven in Israel) celebration that commemorates the Jewish people's escape from slavery in ancient Egypt. To our Jewish friends and neighbors beginning Passover this evening, may it be sweet, joyous, and meaningful. Chag Pesach Sameach!

As Ramadan continues, we are thankful for our friends at the @jaxjewishcenter. Together, we hosted our 9th Annual Ramadan Iftar, and it was a great night of interfaith fellowship and good food. Thanks to all of our volunteers and the staff at @margoscatering for helping us make it a success!

Today is Ash Wednesday, the first day in the 40 day Christian season of Lent that precedes Easter weekend. Today, Christians mark themselves with a cross of ashes from burning Palm Sunday palms. For all those Christians entering into Lent, we pray it will be a good fast.

The UN created International Holocaust Remembrance Day in 2005 and set the day as Jan. 27th, the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp. Today we reflect on the memory of all those who perished in the Holocaust, and the enduring legacy of those who survived.

Most Christians celebrate Epiphany on Jan. 6th, commemorating the arrival of the Magi to visit the child Jesus.

However, in many Hispanic communities, this holiday is also known as Three Kings Day, with parades and family gatherings.

December 26th begins the celebration of Kwanzaa. Created in 1966, Kwanzaa is an African American and Pan-African holiday. May all who celebrate enjoy this time of unity and remembrance.

For many Christians, December 25th is the beginning of the Christmas season, which lasts for 12 days until Epiphany. This season marks the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem to earthly parents Mary and Joseph. Merry Christmas to all who celebrate!
