What I love so much about music is that it’s a language everyone understands.

When I used to write stuff about maths, science and even eastern philosophy, there weren’t many people who could understand where I was coming from.

Music is a universal language which can be understood by anybody.
I don’t want to use social media or engage with politics anymore right now.

That will likely change at some point but right now I’m fed up with seeing constant negativity and polarisation.

You have got to recognise how difficult your circumstances were and how far you’ve come.

By comparing yourself to others you forget the scale of the uphill battle you were facing to get to where you are now.

Life isn’t meant to be easy. If it is, then you’re already content.

The AI revolution is no different to when the Industrial Revolution came along.

it threatened my great x4 grandfather’s job as an agricultural labourer and there were riots known then as ‘The Swing Riots.’

In the end his refusal to adapt led to his admission to a workhouse where he passed away.

Intelligence in humans is not merely cognitive.

Even if a dog or a primate had a human brain, neither would possess the physical ability to produce intelligible speech, nor the dexterity to create our tools - even if they knew how.

Sometimes when you try something you think will improve things, it just ends up making things worse.

It feels like a psychological sucker punch, especially when you put yourself in a lot of stress to make this ‘improvement’ and it just reinforces all of your most pessimistic predictions.

Everywhere you look the internet is dominated by incredibly self-righteous people who hate each other.

It’s an endless feedback loop, with two very extreme sides become more and more extreme.

Social media needs to be regulated because this can’t go on.

The fundamental threat facing modern Western society is overconsumption.

From birth through to their 20s, the young generations have been taught to consume information, both factual and fictional, which will be of little to no practical value in the workforce or survival in general.

The reason the Age of Enlightenment happened was because of genuine conviction not because a man with a PhD went in front of an audience and said “This is how it is. Take it or leave it.”

So of course academia is losing the masses - there is little strength of feeling behind any of it.

Secularism is failing because facts aren’t inseparable from thoughts.

A fact is a judgement assigned to reality not some omnipotent truth completely independent of human thinking.

I’ve found its very easy to look back on the past and think things were better when actually things were just as hard but in different ways.

I have things I have now which I didn’t have then. And I have things harder in other ways.

It balances out to the same difficulty level.

When I’m done with 2010s nostalgia music, I’ll move onto 2020s music.

Gotta make something of the decade that we’re already halfway through.

Twitter and Instagram are both dead internet theory on steroids.

Flooded with AI accounts posting AI slop. Same problem with YouTube.
July 12, 2025 at 12:48 PM
Twitter is completely broken.

It’s filled with blue checkmark bots and any real accounts just get shadowbanned.

There is no ultimate answer to all of one’s problems.

It’s like in Hitchhiker’s Guide to The Galaxy where all these billions of beings across star systems all congregated in one place demanding an answer to all their problems - only to be told 42.

My next song is going to far better than my previous two songs.

It will have far better EQs, automation, effects and transitions.

It will sound smooth like a proper song which is not something I’ve achieved before.

What they never teach you in school is that the knowledge you truly need isn’t in the book - it’s in the world.

You’ve read the findings of one individual proofread by other individuals like them - your understanding is limited to what they understand and nothing else.

When you’re unhappy it often has nothing to do with what’s actually happening.

Sleep for instance makes a big difference to your mood.

You could be having a perfectly good day without knowing it but lack of sleep can make it seem bad.
June 28, 2025 at 8:14 PM
The problem with perfectionism is your output falls.

It’s better to have consistent good pieces than one masterpiece.

Perfectionism is about control and nothing in life can be controlled to be flawless.

If the economy revolved around things being perfect than production would go down the toilet.

Engage with content and feeds that promote good news.

Turn off content that promotes doomerism or pessimism about things which are not in your control.
May 24, 2025 at 11:59 AM
Ever since I stopped watching the news and unfollowed/unsubscribed from all political social media feeds my mood has improved ten fold.
May 15, 2025 at 2:23 PM
Going to bed late (i.e going to bed at a time that doesn’t give you 8-9 hours sleep) is really bad for mood regulation

You can become more susceptible to anxiety and depression because the neurological defence mechanisms are significantly weakened.

A lot of my favourite tunes that I listened to the first time I didn’t think of as being the best.

It’s the memories I associate with those tunes that make me think of them that way.

Discovered I’m part Irish and Swedish.

Over time I would say I’ve become a lot more extroverted. 80% extroverted now compared to 50% 6 months ago.

It’s got to the stage where I would probably fail an ASD test.

Though I still view my neurodivergence as my mother tongue.

Something that took me 27 years to realise is that how you think about your life shapes what kind of life you’re going to live and even the world you live in.

If you think negatively about yourself & the world or let negative events influence your internal state then things are going to get worse.
