50 years ago today, Nov. 10, 1975, the Edmund Fitzgerald sank beneath the waves of Lake Superior during a massive storm.
The sinking took the lives of all 29 men on the ship, and became immortalized in Gordon Lightfoot's song.
This is the story of this terrible tragedy.

New research report from Dalhousie University shows flaws in the environmental review process for mining operations in Canada, finding that data for 20% of the projects reviewed (227 projects dating back to 1974), was incomplete or missing entirely from public records.
