Today the BBC announced that Doctor Who will be back on our screens at Christmas 2026 with a special episode written by Russell T Davies.

MCM Comic Con's winter edition returned to EXCEL London (October 24th-26th 2025). Once again we attended this event as official press thanks to MCM. MCM London has become one of the largest and premier pop culture events in the UK offering attendees a wide range of attractions, opportunities and experiences covering a wide range of interest areas.

A Savage Art features the life and work of political cartoonist Patrick Oliphant, whose storied career spanned five decades and ten U.S. Presidents. The film is told in interviews with Pat, his family, friends and colleagues, archival footage and hundreds of his cartoons. It also briefly outlines the history of political cartoons, showing how important and impactful political cartoonists have been throughout the ages, and how in our current climate of political partisanship and corporate control of the media, political cartoonists, like Oliphant, are critical to checking the powers that be.

The Vortex is new Las Vegas themed drama from writer/director Richard Zelniker (As Night Comes) and co-writer Steven Barr (Mass Effect). The film stars Billy Gardell (The Electric State), Jaina Lee Ortiz (Rosewood) and Jamie McShane (Wednesday). In 1980 Las Vegas, a Native Paiute cleaning lady enters a slots room at the MGM Grand Casino, setting off a chain of strange and unexpected events.

New York film makers Thomas Mazziotti and Jerome Heaven have made multiple narrative films - both comedies and dramas. They now tackle the ambitious project of creating a documentary from 1992 time capsule footage. Footage initiated by a Village Voice ad asking New Yorkers to tell their stories of love, life and happiness - a year which was marked by event such as John Gotti's conviction, Arthur Ashe's AIDS confession and, of course, the Rodney King riots that rocked the country.

Unbanked is a new documentary exploring the bitcoin revolution and cryptocurrency in general. The film comes from new film-makers David Kuhn and Lauren Sieckmann.

'The Workout' is new action thriller from writer/director James Cullen Bressack ('Murder, Anyone?').

English actor Terence  Stamp has died aged 87. Known for his sophisticated villain roles, he was named by Empire as one of the 100 Sexiest Film Stars of All Time in 1995. He has received various accolades including a Golden Globe Award, a Cannes Film Festival Award, and a Silver Bear as well as nominations for an Academy Award and two BAFTA Awards.

Blumhouse, the maker of horror hits like “Insidious” and “Five Nights at Freddy’s,” has acquired the rights to all future “Saw” films, shows and other properties featuring the murderous, torture-loving Jigsaw. Lionsgate, which has released all 10 films in the series, will continue to be a partner in the property. It will also be retaining its existing 50% ownership stake in and distribution of future installments.

Following on from the epic season two finale of Doctor Who, viewers were treated to a first look at the next chapter in the Whoniverse, The War Between The Land And The Sea, and new character imagery has been released of Russell Tovey as Barclay and Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Salt.

The British actor and writer Simon Fisher-Becker, best known for his appearances in Doctor Who and Harry Potter has passed away aged 61. The news was shared by his husband Tony on social media, a cause of death has not been given at this time.
