Eurasian collared dove / Sierpówka (Streptopelia decaocto)

This cute dove is a usual guest on this particualr tree. Yesterday I saw it trying to sit on it, but cause of the snow it was unable to. Today however snow has melted and cutey has sucesfully roosted yet again 🕊️

I wanted some kind of mica (characteristically flaky, sheet-like minerals) for my collection, so naturally I ended up getting #Fuchsite - a chromium-rich variety of muscovite. The green looks uniquely metallic from a distance, but up close the flakes become so alluringly vitreous 💚

Closing this batch is my biggest specimen of milky #Quartz. It always amused me how many fancy names there are for slightly different kinds of what is basically just regular ol' quartz ("Kryształ Górski" makes me chuckle).
I love the tiny rainbow reflections.

One of these nuthatchers recently flew over to me demanding a piece of a nut I was holding for a squirrel.
These birds are one of the few that can travel down the tree trunk headfirst.

Another pretty squirrel we encountered in the park last Saturday 01.11.25

It was quite timid but still curious enough to hang around. Whenever a dog was passing by it ran up the tree, squeaking and swishing its tail in either fear or agitation.
