I'm BOOKED UP on proofs at the mo & have this on preorder, but I'm spreading the word in case anyone else wants in. This sounds like a fantastic read!
psssst....

Any UK-based instagrammers/tiktokers out there in desperate need of (Don't) Call Mum by Matt Wesolowski? We have a very limited amount of physical proofs left. If you're keen, give us a shout.

These stories dip into the lives of ordinary Nigerians and examine the mundane madnesses they try to keep at bay.

An eloquent and polished debut collection thrumming with life. It was full of tiny humane moments that haunted me days after finishing!

What a unique, compelling gem! Bear Season asks which matters most — the stories we live, those we tell, or the ones we dream up for ourselves — and probes the boundaries around each until they fold in on themselves.

Still recall a "futures" convention saying their payment to me for doing an event would be a half-hour lunch with Musk. I laughed so hard I was crying. When they asked what was so funny, I hung up.

Every tech guy wants to introduce something game-changing like the smart phone and all they got is "office meetings with a pair of giant goggles strapped to your head" or "chatbot that can't spell strawberry" and they're going to destroy society if we don't pretend these are necessary to our lives

💙📚 New to my shelves

Here's a peek at some new things I've added to (read: jammed onto) my shelves recently — a mixture of Christmas gifts and purchases with gifted book tokens!

Anything here from your tbr? What should I be prioritising?

I love checking my Blackwell's wishlist because very occasionally they have something for a wacky price and I must pounce

All this criticism of 'overconsumption' in the book community, at a time when I think owning your own media and not leasing access to it from a corporation is about to become very important, has me sideyeing

When & why did we decide to move away from the term 'self-published' and towards using 'indie author'? Because, unless I'm mistaken, that's what indie authors are doing: self-publishing. Is that seen as a negative term now? Or are the two groups seperated in a way I don't understand?
