I agree, but one thing to remember is that thermal oil sands operations cannot simply be turned off and restarted. There are significant technical and environmental challenges associated with curtailing Alberta’s oil production, particularly for thermal and in situ extraction methods.

Life on Earth has arguably been around for 3.6 billion years. I normally work on fossils that are 550 million to 10 thousand years. But these days I can seldom get my mind off of the things that happened in the USA yesterday. Whenever yesterday was.
