Just read The Discovery of the Ghooric Zone by Richard Lupoff - a short story - and I'm rather blown away by it. I think I need to track some more of his work down. Lovecraft in Space! In 1977!

This is true.

But also, can you *imagine* playing D&D with Musk? Being his DM? My god.

I know we're all a fairly mild-mannered bunch, but if he turned up at Owlbear, he'd end up in the Leam.
The far right is obsessed with Lord of the Rings and Musk keeps posting about "hobbits" because modern scientific racism owes more to fantasy worlds and gaming systems than genetic science, and they see both as effective mediums for right-wing propaganda www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2025/1...

Maybe Keir should demand the heads of major US news networks any time they imply Britain is on the brink of civil war or that we live under sharia law. Or does it not work both ways?

Had an interesting chat with an old friend about difference between the 1920s and the 1890s - in a Cthulhu context. There is a big singularity in the form of the Great War, and one of the bigger effects is that after it, you're allowed to be mates with people of a different social class

Absolutely fascinating and very long thread about tear gas, for those who are interested in the development and propagation of weaponry and how military tech became a civilian product (in the US, not the UK, thank fuck)
OK, as promised, here's my thread about the links between tear gas/pepper spray and the arms trade and gun industry.

I’m gonna get to play Gaslands tonight! Yay! But I’m bloody knackered and I’ve got a stomach ache and my brain is dumb. Less yay. There may be whisky involved though, so medium yay?

I know I'm late on this, but I see that @pookie-uk.bsky.social is an author on the current version of Horror on the Orient Express, and I am currently reading and enjoying one of his sections very much!

Last night I went to the Puca Festival in Trim, Ireland.

It's all fun and games until someone unleashes a giant demonic hare.

Welp, saw that Horror On The Orient Express is on sale at the moment and had a panic that it was going to go out of print, so I bought it. Also I watched Horror Express last night, so seemed apt.

My group better bloody well agree to play it when we've finished Masks!

Just watched Horror Express with Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee and Telly Savalas. A film that is way, way better than it needed to be, and that punches massively above its rather small budget.

Quite Lovecraftian as well, I think. Top notch.

It's on iPlayer at the moment

Hard agree here. There’s absolutely no reason turkey should be dry, unless you are an utter buffoon
6. A clarification: “turkey is dry and bad” isn’t really a discourse it’s just a bad opinion. You can keep telling everyone that nobody in your family knows how to cook every year if you want, I’m not going to stop you.

There is almost nothing in Tolkien as pervasive as his love for the small and vulnerable, for the meek and the gentle. These are not the values of these thugs and they do not have any claim to them.

Deep One Herald.

Ok so this is a special one. For November we’ve partnered with @fenrisgames.com for a single mini competition.

Your mission this month is to paint this, the Deep One Herald. It’s an awesome mini with loads of potential for shenanigans.
