Execs always claim bloated budgets increase retail prices. This is a lie.
They will always increase prices to whatever they think they can get away with. Always have, always will. AI is merely a new get-richer-quicker scheme.

completely agree, its batshit insanity and reiterates the undeniable fact that the majority of "devs" involved with it are either extreme perverts or so antisocial that they think stage plays are the only answer on data analysis. Hell , actual performers are probably insulted

its a depressing time in games industry...actually safer to say its always depressing but boy we keep finding declaring that we found bedrock but then some sadistic founder finds a new aaaa bedrock thats 3% worse than the previous years bedrock & now that bedrock is 50x more expensive due to nvidia
I interviewed with 20 studios in 2023 before finally finding a home at CDPR. Studios closed, projects got canceled, devs got laid off. As of today, only 1 of those roles remains. It's a wild time in the games industry
