no, that makes perfect sense

and while it's shocking from an ethical perspective, it makes perfect sense from a deliberately unethical (aka "business") perspective. OF COURSE the whole reason they're excited about this shit is to *not hire any coders*

ICD coding is hard and people get paid for it

my version of this is if you can't do it yourself learn to enjoy sucking at it. i'm actively bad at video games but that's never stopped me from playing bloodborne a dozen times. just do things you suck at, it's more fun than you think
Sloppers fuck off. If you can’t do it yourself maybe learn to be happy as the audience

For all the talk of the “progressiveness”

Some of the most consistently voting progressive legislators are the old Black people from the south

I'll get back to "party unity" as soon as the Senate Minority Leader tells us if he voted for the Democratic party nominee for mayor of his city.

I'm tired of party unity only ever running one way.

Bonus, this bullshit system makes providers look like money grubbing assholes and helps launder insurance companies' reputations by making them look reasonable in comparison.

It's a real mugs game
Not to defend the ASC in the OP because I don't know them and they could be sketchy as fuck, but I do want to provide context to why providers charge ridiculous rates regardless of what the insurance company will pay or what is a reasonable amount to charge a patient.
People talk a lot of (completely justified) shit about the insurance companies but the kind of shit that healthcare providers increasingly try to get away with will make your eyes bleed

Okay, Ezra is confirming that he's hearing D senators are actually plotting to cave to Trump and end the shutdown WITHOUT any extension of the ACA, just a promise of a vote later down the line.

Call your senators, friends, NOW, and tell them NO DEAL without ACA funding!

Find them here: reps.fyi

Martin Heinrich got a much more pleasant voicemail thanking him for not being a traitor and a coward.
The script I drafted for myself for my senator who already voted to end the shutdown on the most recent vote before this.

Feel free to crib if you're too pissed for decorum and hesitant to freestyle. 🧵 1/8
If you have a Dem senator and you're seeing this right now, CALL THEM RIGHT NOW and tell them NO. If you don't know anyone who would be affected by this, call them for my friend Lisa. She cannot afford insurance without ACA subsidies and without health insurance I'm terrified she will die.

! A key group of Senate Democrats is leaning toward voting for a deal to end the shutdown, provided final details can be worked out like worker protections (Gift link)

(Deal does NOT include an ACA extension.)

Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

I felt horrified hearing this story and also feeling like this woman lost her husband. And that she had to learn about this across borders over a phone. I am glad that it seems she has a lot of people in her life that have listened to her sharing and share her outrage.
