Issue #75 of the "Six Science Posts" newsletter is on it's way to inboxes everywhere.

This one has some really neat info about element #75 - Rhenium - one of the rarest elements.

Also, a really fun non-standard measurement unit - the Ferris wheel.

Shakespeare had some faulty shelves at the globe theater so he called for a repairman. The repairman said "I'm here to fix the stairs". A confused Shakespeare informed him, "the fault is not with our stairs, but with our shelves"

Today is 5/29 - a reminder to check your 529 plan (college savings plan) or start one if you haven’t yet.

If you are in a state without a state income tax, you have more flexibility in picking a plan

Check the Iowa and Utah plans - many good options.

Best wishes! 👍🏽

Know why the symbol for Tungsten is W?

It because the process to extract it uses so much tin it looks like a ravenous, frothy wolf

These scientists have great imagination, right? 😄

I love learning stuff like this through my #SixSTEMTweets newsletter

I had no idea that 73 is nicknamed Sheldon prime - after Sheldon Cooper of the Big Bang Theory

Here’s some fun facts about the number 73

What’s a good family friendly TV show we can watch for about 30 minutes after dinner?

Some examples that we’ve enjoyed are: Young Sheldon, Abbott Elementary , The Amazing Race, Modern Family

Looking for other suggestions,

Thanks

Our friends are on a vacation in Japan

And they are not posting their photos anywhere - not Facebook, not Instagram, not WhatsApp

Just having a great time all on their own

I am irrationally annoyed 😑😒

I have been so impressed by the first successful private mission to the moon - Blue Ghost Mission 1 by Firefly Space - that I put the highlights in a special issue of my newsletter

So much wonderful and impactful science!

And that “goodbye” message - so emotional 🥹

In case you, like me, are a high-anxiety human who missed this piece of moderately reassuring news:

Despite many broken things, the FDA *did* make a flu shot recommendation for this fall.

A friend of mine has an Android app that’s been working great for over a year but started erroring last week.

Different Android versions, different hardware platforms, all showing errors over the last few days.

Any other Android devs seeing this?

Any clues? Thanks!
