10:14 in Berlin. An English-accented man in the platz below the hotel is screaming the top of his head right off about the traitors responsible for the assassination of JFK.

Have to say, you rarely get that in SW Virginia. This is why we travel, I guess.

I took my students to Sachsenhausen yesterday, and they were shattered. So was I. I’m very lucky to do what I do for a living.

@50plusdoner.bsky.social I guess I’m out. Operation LMAO seems like it was fun for you, but it isn’t for me. Tschüss.

Well, my club sucks now. They’ve never missed Europe before, and they’re going to lose players and nobody wants to coach them.

Is this what it’s usually like? Because this is less fun.

Chaplin is often dismissed with a hand-wavey "Oh, he had pathos" but the political content of his comedies has been aging like fine wine, unfortunately.

@nytimes.com spends way more time bemoaning the lack of resistance than covering it when it happens. This is the top of the front page; it feels very like nothing happened yesterday.

If you're having a bad day, just remember that without security clearance, accidentally being invited to a group chat is the only way Poilievre is gonna learn Canada's national security secrets.

I owed 100k despite paying for 15 years. It was forgiven under this program, and it changed my family’s life and future.

So now, is my school going to have to be performatively cruel to our trans or immigrant kids, lest its employees suffer? We won’t, and we shouldn’t, and they will.

My congressman, Ben Cline, has been dodging his constituents for a while, now. I guess I would, too, if I were him.

The difference between this and the surrender of the Sudetenland is that Trump isn’t only playing the Chamberlain role, placating the aggressor. He’s actually doing the rhetorical work of the aggressor, belittling Zelenskyy like he’s Edvard Beneš, so Putin doesn’t have to.

Why, in God’s name?

Trump's 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭 to our ally in the Oval Office is a DAMN SHAME.

Denigrating a democratic world leader while sitting next to him has not only jeopardized our work with global allies. Once again, Trump's ego just put our national security at risk.

The Tate brothers have been released from Romanian supervision and are in the US, after pseudo-official Ric Grennell requested their passports be returned.

Accused of sex-trafficking and violence against women, they’re rescued by the same country that produced the Marshall Plan.

Shit. Just shit.
