More Sonic Boom Artistry! This one has the David Morgan inspired shorter handle, making the design closer to what Indiana Jones used in the first three movies.

I feel like I owe David Morgan an apology, but paracord braiding is really growing on me.

Some sonic boom artistry! This is the first of three handheld sonic boom manipulation devices that were commissioned recently.

I used to swear I'd never make a whip out of nylon. "Whips are made of leather, damnit!" But it is SO nice to braid one of these in a day instead of a week.

The thing about scientific research is that it’s one of the few national investments that’s a clear public good even if you entirely discount the actual ostensible point of it.
New report shows that NIH grants fueled $95 billion in economic activity and 407,782 jobs in 2024.

That's not to mention the countless lives that biomedical research has saved.

Show me a better investment than that.

Not only did my alarm clock go off an hour earlier than it did last week, but local solar noon is now at a quarter to two.

I'm almost more angry about that than about my circadian rhythms.
