Overhead on the street in my neighborhood yesterday as I passed a group of elementary school kids. One boy asked, "Would you rather die right now, or live forever?" A chorus of kids shouted, "Die right now." Another boy added, "There's just no point in living forever."

Facebook has already gone the way of Twitter. My newsfeed today was filled with posts about the police, the military and finally for good measure, a porn post. These were suggested pages, not my friends. I'm stunned.

Just watched Everything Everywhere All at Once after having seen it alone the first time on my laptop. Losing my mom and my brother in the past year, as well as watching it this time with my son on a big screen, made it hit so much harder. I am in a puddle of tears, as is he.

A reminder that the memorial for our beloved friend, husband, brother, and all-around mensch Steve Silberman will take place on Saturday, November 9, at the First Unitarian Universalist Society of San Francisco. Doors open at 1:30 and the ceremony will start at 2:00, with a reception to follow.
