Just watching the morning news on the ABC - how do we go from a news story about an indigenous man with dementia being found deceased in a river to being all hunky dory and talking about sport? Why do we move on from tragedy & indigenous deaths so quickly? Why is sport more important?

The 2025 Conference for BABAO is in full swing, and it is really interesting. I really enjoyed the presentation by Dr Alice Rose about her studies on isotopes & rat populations with the Rattus project.

I don't think I've read this much philosophy/social theory since my last attempt at an anthropology degree. This ethics in tech class is giving me flashbacks

ANOTHER BIT OF #MEDIEVAL WORKED BONE! This seems to be a fragment of a comb from the end of Middle or Late Saxon period, up to about 10th century. The hole is where another piece would be riveted to this, and the base of the teeth is visible across the top.

I'm looking forward to going to the SMA & BABAO conferences in September this year in Leicester. I have a few gaps in my travel plans.

Are there any archaeology/biology/history/museum events in September that you would recommend?

We’ve bombed Iran. And dismantled our joint terrorism task force. And sent a third of the FBI to help ICE. And gutted the National Security Council. And a drunk guy is in charge at the pentagon. And our intelligence allies probably won’t share intel with us. Because people couldn’t vote for a woman.

I am an archaeology student and I am going on excavation this year, I am hoping to volunteer in a museum as well.

I have opened my own redbubble. If I sell enough tshirts, phone cases, posters, notebooks, and tote bags, I will be able to afford my excavations.
