Go Katie, go! You’ve got every transit advocate behind you! 🫡

Who could be SF’s MUNI mayor? I can think of a few folks! 🙃
This race could come down to your vote! As of yesterday, we were just 91 votes ahead. Additional votes will be counted today.

Do your part and check on your ballot with King County ASAP: info.kingcounty.gov/kcelections/...

This is what they’re going to tell us every time they lose.
The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.

I am not a crazy ideologue. I just think that the richest society in human history has a moral responsibility to welcome the stranger, feed the hungry, treat the sick, and house the homeless. If doing that requires forcing comfortably-housed people to accept neighborhood change, I'm ok with that.
Probably the key part of this piece. It comes down to the following: "What does prioritizing millionaire homeowners’ aversion to change over the needs of the poor and unhoused do to our souls?"

I love that transit and housing advocacy orgs have started teaming up with each other to elevate each other’s needs.

We’ve know for a while that good transit requires housing to provide riders. We also know that dense housing requires transit, not cars, to move people around.

Real life Avengers.

I chatted with them earlier today and fully support their efforts. If you have a few dollars to throw at them, it will go a long way! 🫡

Headed back with one of the coolest souvenirs I could’ve asked for, a signature on an Orca card from @nondriver.bsky.social!

Had a chance to sit down and chat at a cafe. What an incredible chance to connect with someone so influential in the advocacy space. I’ll never forget it! 😻🫡🎉

Thanks to the Illinois’ massive investment in transit, Chicago has a bright transit future, with the dawn coming next year:
—50% increase in every-10-min bus routes to 30 citywide
—8-minute midday headways on rail lines
—24-hour Orange Line service (Red & Blue already have it)

virtue signalling is good actually
Performative decency is actually *so* important for this reason.

It tricks the 10% of ghouls into thinking that there are only 1% of ghouls.

And it makes the 30% of people that don't care one way or another follow the mostly decent crowd
