🚨BREAKING: Oversight Dems have received new emails from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate that raise serious questions about Donald Trump and his knowledge of Epstein’s horrific crimes.

Read them for yourself. It’s time to end this cover-up and RELEASE THE FILES.

Seriously. I listened to about 5 min of Ezra Klein’s NPR show this AM. Possibly the most flaccid political “analysis” I’ve ever heard. Completely daft and unaware.
Yes. How do Dem electeds not understand this dynamic? After all these years?
At some point we have to let pain hurt Trump instead of helping him. Every time we let pain help him, he’ll do more and bigger next time.

Each acquiescence means the next one will be *more* painful.

Ok. Fuck the Court.

The three branches are done. Cooked. RIP democracy in the USA.
I'm...at a loss honestly

I know it's an administrative stay and will in all likelihood be dissolved in a few days, & I assume she had a procedural strategy reason

But we're talking about *food funding* and an implicit promise of procedural reasons seems like a poor substitute for basic human needs
UPDATE: Justice Jackson temporarily blocks SNAP benefits order to allow appeals court to rule.

DOJ asked SCOTUS for a stay as USDA was in the middle of completing its process for making full payments. Jackson's order came a little past 9 p.m.

I don't think people realize how much a trillion dollars is.

Let's say you get paid a million dollars per day. That's a lot, right?

If you spend none of it and pay no taxes, you'll have a trillion dollars in approximately two thousand seven hundred (2700) YEARS.

No one should have that much.

Agreed.
No it’s important to listen to this. Because then you understand that many of them will do ANYTHING to keep power. Remember Musk got involved in the 2024 election after saying to Tucker “if she wins” I am definitely going to prison.

So we need to move knowing that nothing is off the table for them.
Steve Bannon: If we lose the midterms and we lose 2028, some in this room are going to prison, myself included.

This is so fucking beautiful.

This wisdom of these fish and these waters, the perfect memory they share.
Grateful to spend two days on the Klamath watching chinook, liberated by dam removal, return to streams from which they’d been precluded since the Titanic sank. Fish are everywhere, in numbers that stagger the mind & locations that biologists figured would take years to repopulate. Too beautiful.

Yep. If we’re to believe Bourdieu, the value of the social capital is in its exchange.
"'They’re spending more money than I would even tax them,' [Mamdani] said in an interview with MSNBC last week."

This is the message. Make it clear that these billionaires aren't just worried about losing money. They're worried about losing the ability to exchange their money for power.

So much hand-wringing about SNAP fraud. Meanwhile the people scamming SNAP recipients have an operation that can scam nearly $23million in 2 days. JUST IN MARYLAND. Stealing info from EBT cards esp at gas stations is a real threat.

As Toni Morrison said, "the very serious function of racism is distraction. It keeps you from doing your work." But she also reminded us never to lose our capacity to be shocked.

Yes, and this shit is really pressing upon my abolitionism. How do we hold these fuckers to account without prison? What non-carceral strategy might work?
Either this ends with some sort of truth and reconciliation process where a very large number of people go to prison for a very long time or we will take a short pause and then start doing it again, but worse.
A Naperville man was hauled away by federal immigration agents Thursday morning as his two sons watched, the older boy begging them not to hurt his father and tearfully asking for a chance to speak to him before they left.
