First go at the Cygnus Wall in the North America nebula - just 80 mins (20sec subs in EQ mode) with an almost full moon!
Struggling to really bring out the blues, so will have another go at the processing, and maybe more time on it will help too.

IC410, the Tadpoles nebula, captured over several nights with my #SeeStarS50. Such a cool target! Had to darken the corners in Photoshop due to extreme noise from field rotation.

M101, the Pinwheel Galaxy, in Ursa Major. Imaged over two nights with my #SeeStarS50, for a total of 1190x10sec subs (3.3 hours integration). Stacked in Siril, processed in GraXpert and Siril. May add more data to this once I get EQ mode up and running!

Soul Nebula, IC1848. Mosaic subs from multiple nights restacked in the #SeestarS50.
1644x10sec subs (4.5 hours integration time), but I reckon that was at least 10 hours 'elapsed' time due to a high rejection rate. Still want to get more time on this to reduce the noise.

More re-processing, this time going back to one of the first targets I tried, way back in Dec/Jan 😄
NGC 281, Pacman Nebula. 717x10sec subs, from three nights.
Processing in Siril and GraXpert.
Still blown away by what this little gadget can achieve!

As the weather's gone from cold and grey, to cold, grey, wet and windy, it was time for another re-processing session!
Here's the Rosette nebula from a few separate sessions (done by copying the files back to the #SeeStarS50 to restack).

My best effort at M42 so far - now up to a total of 462 individual subs 're-mosaiced' by the #SeestarS50, then the usual processing in Graxpert and Siril. Also some editing in Photoshop to hide some mosaic artefacts (due to imaging on multiple nights with inconsistent conditions). #Astrophotography

M51, the Whirlpool galaxy. This was my favourite galaxy when I was young, so I'm really chuffed to get this so many years later!
About 50mins of integration time (288x10sec subs from #SeeStarS50), processed in Graxpert and Siril.

M45 Pleiades. 1 hour exposure time, stacked in Siril from subs captured on two different nights. I excluded subs from another night when it was a bit misty, as that was causing some 'fake' nebulosity!

An early clear spell last night meant I could have a go at the Flaming Star nebula (IC 405) with my #SeeStarS50. 357x10sec subs giving an hour of integration time, captured over the course of a couple of hours. Processed with Siril and Graxpert.

I've now got around 1500 subs of M31. Siril managed to register about 800 of those (with sufficient overlap of the ref frame) and then after I manually rejected a lot of poor quality subs, it stacked 544. Think this is the best result so far.

Spent another morning playing with post-processing - went back to a mosaic capture of the Rosette nebula, hoping to improve on previous processing attempts. Still haven't got to grips with manually stacking from mosaic subs, but quite pleased with this central part. #SeeStarS50 #Astrophotography

Another attempt at combining multiple mosaic sessions, but using a different technique to combine all the individual light subs, rather than the mosaic .fits. Lots of stacking artefacts which I've tried to hide, but it's given me a taste of what's possible with even more exposures! #SeestarS50

Here's the result of 3 separate mosaic .fit files captured over 3 different nights. Around 3 hours total exposure (1069x10sec). Processed in Siril (stacking and stretching), GraXpert (denoising) and tweaked in Photoshop.

Waiting for #SeestarS50 to fill in the corners of a mosaic is a slightly more exciting version of watching paint dry. Or maybe more like a really bad decorator who can't be bothered to stretch to roller the hard to reach bits 😄 Took over an hour to go from images 1 to image 2 🤪

Getting frustrated by the weather conditions! Managed to get a bit of time on the Fishead nebula the other night, but the moon was so bright I need to revisit it before I get something worth posting. So here's my first attempt at M81 Bodes galaxy from new years day.

I created an #astrophotography #StarterPack because I want to help them connect.

The starter pack is in its infancy with only about 10 members.

Please list below any that you know. 🙏

Horsehead nebula (Barnard 33 and IC434) along with a bit of the Flame nebula (NGC2024), captured with my Seestar S50.
Desperate for more clear skies so I can add more data to this! Trying to resist saying "I never dreamed I'd get images like this!" on every post - but it's true! 😄

Another one of my first images from the #SeestarS50 - NGC 281, the Pacman nebula.

495x10sec subs, 82mins total.
Processed with Graxpert, Siril and Photoshop.

Here's M33, the Triangulum galaxy, captured using my #SeestarS50

Stacked from images taken on two separate nights - 268x10sec subs. Processed in Siril and Photoshop.

Many years ago, when I was very into astronomy, I never dreamt that one day I'd be able to capture something like this! Only had the S50 scope a couple of weeks, and we've only had a few clear nights since then, but I'm already slightly obsessed 😁
