It takes an average of 9.5 years to get a diagnosis of bipolar in the UK. If you want an ADHD assessment in Wales, there’s a 7 year waiting list. 10% of those still waiting for a 2nd contact in adult mental health services have been waiting at least 116 weeks. But tell me again about overdiagnosis

George and the Mini Dragon arrived today & I quickly read it so I can take it straight into school. Super cute illustrations by @mrtimdraws.bsky.social bring a really fun story to life, great use of makaton, & detail of a (hopefully) realistic inclusive school. Thanks to Scholastic! #DownSyndrome

I have a book out today!
#TheDayMySchoolGotFamous is an EXPLOSIVE illustrated comedy about the exciting discovery of an unexploded WW2 bomb under a school playground. (But it's really about kindness and family and fostering and teamwork). I'd absolutely love you to buy or borrow it soon!

Strong correlation between people borrowing physical books and buying them. The more they borrow, the more they buy.

This research shows the same with ebooks - in fact the correlation is even more marked.

So ebook borrowing is good for book sales.

Something that really struck me (again? More?) today comparing game writing and novel writing - exposition in games is much easier. Players are trained to treat everything as collectible including information, so they if they can ask questions of an NPC, they will. In dramatic fiction …
