So messed up.
Laws get drafted during session, but power builds before then. That's why I'm recruiting volunteers in GA through Project 159. 🍑 Meet with your rep. Make noise. And if they won’t listen? Turn pressure into power—run! 🏃

The comments are worth reading too.
We need to teach people the difference between being uncomfortable and being unsafe. Because the discomfort of the safest people is endangering the most vulnerable, all day every day.

No I don't want "humane" deportations, for the same reason I don't want "friendly" cops in schools or "understanding" genital inspectors at sporting events.

The problem is the fascism, not that the fascism is rude.

Well done, NYC! Well done. Let's see how it plays out with RCV--but I think it is pretty likely that Mamdani is the nom.
CUOMO CONCEDES… ZOHRAN MAMDANI WILL BE THE NOMINEE…

I've been working with Olivia and Cara since we launched the Barbed Wire and they're both excellent journalists with unimpeachable integrity. They did not deserve to have to deal with this: www.cjr.org/feature-2/we...

We've been saying this was coming. It was only a matter of time.
🚨A U.S. born citizen was arrested in Florida for entering the state as an “unauthorized alien.” His mother and a community advocate showed his birth certificate during a hearing in Leon County. The judge said she had no authority to release him.

I think the part where Trump brags about Doge and thanks Musk would be a good time to make a stink and get kicked out.

It is interesting! And interesting stuff makes the news. It would be good if more Dems were interested in making news to draw attention to the crisis we're in.
Interesting to see a democrat attempt to risk negative reaction to draw attention to the crisis we're in. @algreen.house.gov

Oh, now we're dragging people out of the SOTU.

Democrats, your job is not to be quieter because Al Green got dragged out. It's your job to get LOUDER.

“Are you going to mask forever?”

I don’t know… are you planning to spread Covid forever?

Masking keeps people healthy. It’s necessary because as a society we’ve refused to do anything to reduce airborne spread. It protects the wearer and those around them. Easy choice!

I wish more people knew this. I wonder if members of congress know this. I'm not optimistic about that.
In addition to Congress being the place that makes the laws, pretty key thing, the constitution explicitly says Congress gets to create the postal system. It’s not left implied that that comes under law making generally. The President has no power to unilaterally abolish it and move it to commerce.

Lynchings were violent public acts that white people used to terrorize and control Black people

Making Black and Brown people fear for their lives as they do every day task is not a new tactic. It is the work of lynching.
