I am very proud to share my first published article, telling the story of Revd Dr Marie Isaacs. She was the 5th woman ordained as a minister in the Baptist Union and a lifelong scholar, who helps answer a question dear to my heart: Why Bother with Hebrews?

This Tuesday I am leading @scmbritain.bsky.social 's Trans Theology Group in a discussion on how the life and ministry of St James the Great can lead us to find hope in imperfection.

The group is for those students who identify as trans, non-binary or intersex or are Trans allies.

Just managed to solve two mysteries at once:

- Why is the vacuum cleaner making funny noises?
- Where is my fine detailing paint brush?

I've just realised that I haven't had any turkey this Christmas season! And you know what? I'm okay with that. I've had some lovely chicken, some lovely ham, and plenty of my favorite festive food: cheese.

We were visited by a neighbourhood cat today who was ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that she should be allowed in our house (Christmas lunch smells I suppose) and well now I want a cat

So thankful after leading my first ever Christmas Day service! Such a privilege, such a joy. I am tired now 😅

And then God created caffeine, and sugar, and saw that it was very good, and many great things were done for the kingdom because of it.

Disclaimer: caffeine is no replacement for sleep, something I am very much looking forward to

I am so proud that my church in Bath is part of hosting an LGBT+ affirming carol service every year. It's such a joyful space.

These are the pot noodles we had donated to our food pantry. We appreciate every donation... but sometimes companies think they can dump their production fails on us and "the poor people will appreciate it"

Sometimes ministry is carefully and contemplatively planning a sermon.

Sometimes ministry is putting rubber gloves on and cleaning spoiled dog food off a crate of pantry donations.

Today is Trans* Day of Remembrance, when we remember how transgender and gender diverse people disproportionately suffer violence. The annual Trans Murder Project report lists 350 trans* individuals who have been killed in the last year. 94% of victims were women/feminine.

We will remember them 🏳️‍⚧️🕊️

A snowy good morning to the inexplicable crowd of people who have come and followed me on Bluesky! It's nice to see that Baptist Twitter is making its way over

I am currently reading Isabella Tree's book "Wilding" about the process of handing the Knepp estate in Sussex back to nature. It's given me so much cause to think about ecosystems, wild-ness, and the need to admit we don't know everything

Finally pulled off a housewarming for the new flat as we squeezed a couple of friends in for a NYE party. Board games, snacks, and chocolate fondue - so long 2023!

Began Christmas in the right way - a joyful communion with my in-laws-to-be, and their pew dog. He got a blessing from the vicar!

Today's menu plan is Using Up Bits. Anybody got recommendations for 400g of Greek yoghurt that won't survive until after Christmas? (I've already made flatbread)
