🧵 There are multiple benefits to Trump’s plan to take over Ghazzah. Trump’s desire to deport illegal immigrants and impose high tariffs on US allies and rivals alike will lead to high inflation and internationally isolate the US.

Sh `Abdur-Raḥmān al-Makkī, a shar`ī from Ḥurrās ad-Dīn, wrote that their disagreement with HTS was in two matters: severing the bay`ah with al-Qā`idah and involving the Turkish military in Idlib.

Allāh blessed the Peninsula of Muḥammad ﷺ with wealth and the Saudi state robbed it, using the wealth to strengthen and submit to the enemies of Allāh (see the petrodollar agreements) and help them against the people of tawḥīd.

One of the most dangerous myths many Muslims believe in today that deter them from opposing the kuffār is the false idea that the US government’s debt means nothing. I briefly refuted this misconception in the latest edition of my essay “Neocolonialism and the Benefits of Jihād”:

The Industrial Revolution in the West was enabled by an unprecedented level of environmental damage. The burning of large amounts of hydrocarbons led to the release of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, creating global warming.

A good example of neocolonialism and how the sharī`ah can fix it can be found in Western policy towards food production. Food production in many Western countries is subsidised while tariffs are imposed against food imports.

🧵 The Link Between Democracy and Industrialisation

Democracy was necessary for industrialisation.

Prior to the Industrial Revolution, production was concentrated in households.

Deflation is bad for bankers because borrowers will be earning less and less money despite the amount of debt they have to repay remaining the same. This increases the risk of default and bank runs.

The West’s promotion of democracy along with its support for dictatorial regimes in the Muslim world may seem contradictory, but it’s actually a neocolonial project.

The same Muslims (or people claiming to be Muslims) who are currently crying over what happened in America recently were silent when America was committing genocide against Muslims in Bāghūz.

The fundamental problem with cost-benefit analysis that justifies Muslim participation in democratic systems (including the liberal international order) is that it doesn’t take into account the cost participating in these systems has on religion and tawḥīd.

Mursī’s biggest mistake that caused his humiliating defeat was not forming a popular militia like Ḥamās and inviting experienced AQ veterans to train it to prepare for armed confrontation with the secular military.

🧵 We should assume the best of Muslims and not be hasty in passing judgements, but this does not mean that we should have unrealistic expectations of them.

Jawlānī’s statements about the future of the Syrian political system and the West’s approach towards him are concerning, to say the least.

🧵 To be clear, out of the two scholarly opinions on Erdoğan (whether he’s a Muslim or a murtad), I believe the most correct opinion is that he’s a murtad. So this thread isn’t meant to defend or find excuses for him.

That said, it’s not correct to view Erdoğan as a snake.

The problem with most discussions on istighāthah is that the people discussing it don’t understand it.

Yes, some classical fuqahā’ like Taqī ad-Dīn as-Subkī and Ibn Ḥajr al-Haytamī permitted istighāthah. But they didn’t permit the shirkī istighāthah practised by many Barelwīs and extreme Ṣūfīs.
