🧠Sula specializes in identifying genetic risk factors for dementia

🔬Previously, Sula gained experience at a brain bank, studying dementias and their effects on post mortem brains.

🎨Sula enjoys playing piano, gardening, painting, hiking, and traveling.

📜Previously in neuroimaging, she is moving to neurogenomic research. She will analyze genetic and environmental impacts on genetic and epigenetic markers in underrepresented populations
🧠 She loves the amygdala and hippocampus
🚗 She loves road trips and has driven cross-country 4 times

📜Initially focused on immunology and cancer biology, she's now moving into computational biology.
⚛️ She is currently focused on debugging her learning process, which is challenging but exciting.
🐾 Christina loves pets and hopes to adopt, teaching them to use talking buttons!

HEART-GeN has been awarded an @alzassociation grant for my research into the correlation between ancestry, aging, and Alzheimer's disease. With this funding, we aim to uncover the genetic reasons behind health disparities and unlock more personalized medical treatments. #alzfunded #neuroscience

The Health Equity for Advancing Research and Technology using Genomic Neuroscience research group works to improve treatments for brain disorders with health disparities. We use the .01% variation in our genome to find the genes that may explain health disparities for brain disorders.
