“Just as what we may call holiness without love is not God’s kind of holiness, so also what we may call love without holiness, including when necessary confrontation, is not God’s kind of love.” -Francis Schaeffer

I’m preaching on Luke 15 tomorrow. Lost sheep. Lost coin.

Sheep wander off. They’re willful. Scared of the wrong things. Unaware of actual dangers.

Coins are inanimate. They don’t get themselves lost—they are lost due to the carelessness of another.

Jesus seeks both.

One of the sins of the Churches in Revelation?

They had sound doctrine but no love.

These should not, CAN NOT be separated, if we are to remain as healthy churches connected to the life giving message of Jesus.

Christians need to stop trying to restore a golden age of the past that never really was…and instead start living in light of the golden age of the future that certainly will be.

God asked Adam and Eve "where are you?" in the garden not because He didn't know where they were, but because He wanted them to know he was still seeking them out despite their failure.

Your failures cannot stop the pursuing love of God!

Pastors and teachers, when it comes to the basics of orthodoxy, if we don’t continually “state the obvious,” one day soon it will no longer be obvious.

“And most of the brothers, having become confident in the Lord by my imprisonment, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.” (Philippians 1:14)

Most counter-intuitive. Hardship on account of the gospel led, not to silence, but confident boldness to declare the same.

“As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives,
And at the last He will take His stand on the earth.
Even after my skin is destroyed,
Yet from my flesh I shall see God;
Whom I myself shall behold,
And whom my eyes will see and not another.
My heart faints within me!”

If you see a jerk in your feed, remember, Christ died for that person too.

If you see evil in your feed, remember, that too was nailed to the cross.

If you see goodness in your feed, remember, that is proof that the light is not overcome.

Resurrection day is coming.

This is one of the most remarkable court opinions I have ever read. This makes it as clear as possible that the very legitimacy of our structure of government stands on the edge of the abyss. The language, speaking directly to the Executive - extraordinary.
