Best ever.
Sixty years ago today, Sandy Koufax was perfect.

The Dodgers ace picked up his fourth career no-hitter at age 29 and the eighth perfect game in AL/NL history in dominant fashion, striking out the final six batters he faced. ow.ly/7rSL50WTOle

Welcome to baseball immortality, Dick Allen.

Too bad the Lerners won’t fire themselves, they’re most responsible for this mess of a season.

At the risk of repeating myself, this team needs to learn how to win. Ownership isn’t doing its part to help with that. A tough accomplished vet will show CJ, Luis, Keibert, etc how it’s done. The losing streak isn’t Davey’s fault, stop tying Riz’s hands and provide some leadership, please!!!! #Nats
Really??? You have to wait ‘til the year you think you’ll contend to sign a big talent? Won’t signing the right one even if it’s a year early, help the young guys learn how to win? The 1st year Werth was there, they finished 80-81-not quite World Series material. Be straight with us Mark. #Nationals

Huge, huge, huge for the Nats. Control of one’s own TV rights is essential in MLB, particularly in today’s rapidly changing media environment. Also very well may open the door for a newly revised bid for the team by Ted Leonsis. #Nationals

Is the league office worried that the LA teams’ seeding in the tournament will be hurt if the games are simply canceled and UCLA/SC are denied an additional win for their NCAA resumes? It’s a bad look for the B1G and makes their priorities seem way out of whack.

Frustrating, but Rizzo always seems to do the best with what he has to work with. Here’s hoping the youngsters develop quickly, and maybe the purse strings will be loosened a bit at the trade deadline to make a worthwhile addition or two 🫰#Natitude

Who else misses the Clambake at Pebble Beach? @pgatourus.bsky.social, please reconsider the “signature event” status of the AT&T Pro Am. Bill Murray vs. Patrick Cantlay is not a close call. The venue is the star anyway.

Nice pick up by Rizzo.
Source confirms Nationals are acquiring 1B Nathaniel Lowe from Rangers for LHP Robert Garcia. 29-year-old has 2 years of club control, career .789 OPS, won Gold Glove in '23. Departure of Garcia, though, thins a bullpen already short on experienced arms.

And all that’s old is new again—MLB teams seeking to sell their own televised games without the surrounding clutter of other regional sports network content harkens back to the Pay Per View approach tried by the Dodgers and Giants in the early ‘60s #PayTV #Dodgers #SFGiants

Hopefully the Lerners see the O’s outpacing them on this metric not only in MD, but in VA and EVEN DC! Speaks to how far the Nats have fallen in fan interest—it’s time to start investing again in some serious talent to help lead the youngsters. #Natitude

Appreciate Cade’s effort and leadership skills over the last two years, even if the on-field results weren’t what I’m sure he hoped they’d be. Forever a Hawk!

Hard to make sense of the Finnegan move, I guess they couldn’t reach a deal at something less than the projected arbitration number. Still, have to think he had some trade value at least.

Won’t be the last, either, it’s the era we now live in. Have to wonder how many good upperclassmen will be available for any non-playoff bowl game. Thanks for an excellent season, Jermari, and best of luck!
Sources have informed 247Sports that Iowa CB Jermari Harris has opted out of the remainder of the 2024 season in preparation for the NFL Draft.
He finished the year with three interceptions and seven pass breakups.

It’s baseball, even more than radio, that will be the big loser if this ever comes to pass.
