Small otter looking after a big human. She/Her. Keen on travel, music and scones.

In a world that has decided that it's going to lose it's mind: be more kind my friends, try to be more kind. #FTHC
@oliverbear.bsky.social From a sunny day!
I got a little outing today! We popped into Winchester City Mill to say hi to my friends @WCMOtters. Much nicer weather than when we visited with @nt_scones - there were even fresh ones in the oven!

@oliverbear.bsky.social and this was from the day when I met our esteemed sconepal-in-chief, @nt-scones.bsky.social
We have had the most lovely, exciting morning - She and I met actual @nt_scones and ate scones together at @WinchesterMill! It was incredibly rainy and the cafe was only doing takeaway so we ate them in the rain! Not sure we have ever had a scone in such a soggy setting before 😂

I have been somewhat remiss in keeping up to date with my adventures of late. There's been quite a lot of human-wrangling as She's been very tired and floppy of late. But I managed to get us out of the house a few weeks ago in search of snowdrops!

As February ends we go back to basics. Every year brings new people starting to experience problems, or recently discovering hypermobility explains some health issues they're experiencing. 1/2

I don't want to be on ghastly x anymore but it's where a lot of my sales come from so this post is a brazen request for shares to spread the word about my work on a kinder platform that isn't run by a dangerous megalomaniac!

Anyone got any bright ideas?
Fallen down a rabbit hole of alternatives to whispersync for kindle/audible as I get a lot of value from easily switching. I struggle with audio books without an ebook I can switch to. Otherwise I lose track of where I am....i fall asleep to audio then can't find my last remembered place....

So, I’m going to choose a different animal each week(ish) and offer a 20% discount on all their prints…

As this is Otterly brilliant, I thought I’d start with my lovely little otters!

This is an excellent raffle run by a charity close to our hearts who have supported Her in the past with her floppy body - if you have a spare pound to buy a ticket you could win some fab prizes including a holiday, £500 or 50k Avios amongst other things!

Going through and tidying up now I think most of my bits have migrated over. This is still one of my favourite pictures of me and the Grandhudad - Look how young and fluffy I was!
Her Dad is quite like an Otter. I like him too. His whiskers are shorter than mine though :

On that note - I am going to attempt to import my old tweets from twitter later, and I am a bit unsure if this will result in me spamming you all horribly. Apologies in advance if so - you may want to mute me for 24 hours just in case!

Hello! I wandered off again, but intend to be here a bit more now I think. Hopefully I can distract Her long enough with a biscuit or something to get my paws on the Internet device!

And now we are settled on a plane - and in my favourite way to travel too!

Oooooh! I got in the bag with Little Ted, which is always a good sign as he doesn't get out of bed for just anything, and when I came out look where we are! Adventure awaits!

Hello nice bluesky people! I have been having a little break from social media, and then thought, ooh, I know where is nice. So I might try and post a bit more.

Just wondering, does anyone have a spare pair of human lungs kicking about I could install in Her? Hers are quite frankly sub optimal and we are all very tired.

It appears we've been visited by the covid demons again. He's recovered pretty quickly although His breathing is hindering His running. She, however, still can't do a flight of stairs in one go. She's exhausted & grumpy & says everything is wrong.

It's quite hard work here ATM.

We had a lovely time at the rest of Latitude, and we are now home safely, but it is very hot and She has been quite poorly so you may or may not get delayed updates of our antics!
January 29, 2025 at 6:47 PM
And now we are all tucked up in bed in our fancy yurt trying to settle down whilst the music goes on till 3am. Little Ted is in his raving element but I am a very tired little otter. Do it all again tomorrow!
January 29, 2025 at 6:47 PM
We then saw The Vaccines (representing @lozziepop89) who were absolutely brilliant, some prog funk noodling from a band called Khruangbin that was just a bit beyond us. Pretty sky though, and we had a very yummy wrap thing for tea with brownies for afters!
January 29, 2025 at 6:47 PM
This also meant She was utterly broken & exhausted by the excitement so we retreated to the disabled platform (our normal haunt) & She napped through a band who were rather good, but woke up for @BaserCaity who was as much chaos -& fun - as last time we saw her at @LatitudeFest!
January 29, 2025 at 6:47 PM
Then on to the most exciting part of the day - we saw @frankturner and the @SleepingSouls - not that unusual I hear you say, but She made it onto the barrier at the front! She didn't think that would be a thing ever again with the wobblibobs, but Rolly really helped & She coped!
January 29, 2025 at 6:47 PM
This morning we had a nice calm start to the day with coffee & breakfast, and then watched a band called Blusher who were Australian and put us in mind of a 90s girl band but with more synth. A nice easy start to the day, we liked them. Might investigate further when home!
January 29, 2025 at 6:47 PM
Yesterday, we then made our way to @LatitudeFest - got ourselves all settled in to our fancy yurt pretty early in the day. She's was very excited about the door. So much so She fell asleep for several hours 🙄😂
