I'm really enjoying playing while weaving with no plan (just some yarns in colours that sort of go together). Onto clasped weft. #weaving #textileArts

A bit of late night weaving, including some just-in-time spindle spun and plied yarn. Please excuse the late night lighting! #spinning #weaving #handspunyarn #textilearts

Spotted this on Instagram. I haven't taken part in a challenge in years - so very tempted. Anyone else? The prompts are in the following post.

And in other news... I've restrung my ukulele. I've spent the rest of the evening playing half a song and retuning, half a song, retune, half a song, retune... 😁

Happy Yule! Marking the setting sun of the shortest day with some candles (both real and safe) and some rose petals to remind me of midsummer.

I opened my penultimate box of organic pearled spelt this evening. Since Sharpham park no longer grow (and sell) spelt I've been struggling to find an alternative (I have found only one potential supplier). Does anyone know of a uk supplier of *organic* *pearled* spelt? Thanks!

One third of children in the UK are living in poverty and we have had a day with the media obsessing about rich farmers who want to keep their millions tax free. Who is orchestrating this utterly bizarre news agenda, and why?

Word of the Day is a true favourite, as some of you will know.

Apricity (17th century) is the warmth of the sun on a winter’s day.

My economics knowledge is not vast.

As I see it "growth" of GDP uses more of Earth's resources (even green growth) - which are limited. There will be an endpoint. Will it end catastrophically or can we plan, & get our heads around degrowth ?

This article helps explain stuff:
This article has been weeks - but also years - in the making. The time has come for #Degrowth. GDP growth at-all-costs is killing us, leading to runaway climate change & fascism. We have to consider other, better options. Fortunately, they do exist.

My word of the day (and personal recommendation) is ‘snerdling’ (18th century): nestling cosily beneath the covers and holding off the day a little longer.

Morning.
