Fascism. Call it what it is.

When you think of the human cost of the terrorist aggression and invasion of Ukraine on russia itself… wow.

They have incurred casualties (killed, wounded, or missing in action) something in the order of 15 to 20 times to their invasion and war in Afghanistan (14.5k dead, 35k wounded)... 1/

It warms my heart that Finland could offer President Zelenskyy a short respite and allow him to spend some personal time (an extra unscheduled night) with his wife, most definitely a luxury for both of them.

Finland is safe and vigilant, and Finland is with Ukraine.

Temaki are wonderful because you make them as you go, making it really hard to over eat as the process of assembling them slows your eating. #JapaneseFood

A silly thing from four years ago popped up on FB as a "memory", it still makes me smile. :) A Pelikan 400, and a Pelikan 100N in a Pelikan Mk. 4 fountain pen holder (from the early 1950s or thereabouts).

I hope you never lose your ability to enjoy silly things. Have a great day! #FountainPens

Here are pictures of our #rescue pup Adele from two years ago (she passed away last year at age 17y7m, almost nine years with us). She brought joy into this world, people always smiled when they met her on our walks and elsewhere. I am forever grateful for all the time we were able to share.

"Such a lovely railroad and railyards you have there... would be a shame if something happened to them."

This is in military parlance "a target-rich environment".

Russians have launched a full-fledged railroad connection Rostov-on-Don – Mariupol – Volnovakha – Donetsk, the Mariupol City Council reported.

Russians built the railroad to shorten the route for delivering military equipment to the front from Rostov-on-Don to Mariupol and Volnovakha.

Putin and Trump, and the ideologies and people they represent, can never be trusted.

As long as ”russkiy mir” is a thing russia poses an existential threat to Europe. There is no redemption or appeasement.

I don’t think I can ever truly forgive people who voted for Trump and continue to support him. You deserve all that is coming for you. May the devil have mercy on your souls, or what is left of them, because god for sure left Heaven a long time ago.

I do wonder what people like Generals James Mattis and Mark Milley are thinking at the moment, with the traitor in chief and his cronies creating outright havoc on all scales.

US supremacy on the World stage is lost. It will be tough to repair the damage already done, and this is just the start.

Does anyone have experience with parties/political movements founded to drive forward a singular issue? Say what you want of Henry Kissinger (I'd go and piss on his grave if it was closer) but he was right when he joked by asking for a phone number for Europe. We desperately need one. 1/6 #Europe

Ukraine's independence and territorial integrity are unconditional.

Our priority must now be strengthening Ukraine and providing robust security guarantees.

In any negotiation, Europe must have a central role.

1) Nazis, when they attained power in 1933 with Hitler being given Chancellorship, were not the whole of Germany.

But soon after that, due to violent coersion, indoctrination, and murder, they were.

When an unauthorized, uncleared person or persons accesses a core computer system or network it's all but impossible to know with any degree of certainty that they didn't leave malicious code behind somewhere. The result: all the hardware and software must be scrapped and replaced. /1

this is the "merit" two-step. first, you strongly imply or state outright that the presence of anyone who isn't a straight, able-bodied white man is unfair "DEI," then you argue that just because an institution is all-male and lily-white doesn't mean there is discrimination. that's just merit!
Opinion | DEI and Disparate Impact
The next step in restoring meritocracy is to reject the theory that proportionate outcomes equal fairness.
