This Famara walk is at a big sweeping bay to the north of #Lanzarote. At the northern end of the bay are the massive Risco de Famara sea cliffs and impressive beaches/dunes. There are also views out to Isla Graciosa. See www.happyhiker.co.uk/MyWalks/Lanz...

This North #Yorkshire is an easy for route finding with lack of gradient and the fact that the majority of it takes place on broad well maintained tracks, so may be less muddy after the rain. It’s a walk of pleasant rolling countryside and woodland. See www.happyhiker.co.uk/MyWalks/Nort...

This walk is set in Baldersdale, County Durham, an offshoot of the main Teesdale valley. The route takes you over Cotherstone Moor to Goldsborough, one of several’ Table Mountains’ in the area. Good views. See www.happyhiker.co.uk/MyWalks/Co.D...

Interesting row of upright stones used as a field wall which could be from the Neolithic period and be 4,000 to 5,000 years old. I’ve seen them in various parts of the country. These from a walk in Lancashire this week (one of 3 still to write up - I’m behind!).

At a mere 344ft (105m), Beacon Hill, also known as Roman Camp is the highest point in #Norfolk, my main reason for visiting it! The walk itself is a short, easy stroll through pleasant deciduous woodland which I imagine is very attractive in #autumn. See www.happyhiker.co.uk/MyWalks/Norf...

This #NorthYorkshire walk combines a lovely country walk with a ‘surprise’ view at Halton Edge over Barden Broad Park stretching to Barden Moor and Simon’s Seat. Also included is a stroll by the river Wharfe at Bolton Abbey. See www.happyhiker.co.uk/MyWalks/Nort...

Got call today from +44 7399 578604. The story was I had paid to a company years ago for some sort of protection for PC, mobile iPad or whatever. Company gone bankrupt and I am due £300 paid back to my credit card which has expired so need new details. Sounds scammy! Beware!

This easy circular walk from the village of Bempton in East Yorkshire barely needs directions as it’s virtually self explanatory. It’s also almost as level as you could get and takes you along the dramatic cliffs. Not a bad forecast that way tomorrow! See www.happyhiker.co.uk/MyWalks/East...

New walk added to website. A gorgeous circular coastal walk in #Northumberland from Embleton to Dunstanburgh Castle. Great views of great sandy bays. See www.happyhiker.co.uk/MyWalks/Nort...

This route inland from #Scarborough on the east coast of #Yorkshire provides views over the valley of the River Derwent before dropping down to High Dales, Low Dales and the delightfully named Whisper Dales. Good chance of Autumn colours. See www.happyhiker.co.uk/MyWalks/Nort...

A taster from a walk this week which I will eventually add to my website (along with the two others in the pipeline) but can anyone guess the hill where it is?

This #YorkshireDales walk from Horton in Ribblesdale provides an alternative to the usual, higher level routes from there. It provides a ridge walk to the ‘nose’ of Pen y ghent, follows part of the river Ribble and includes the curious Milk Churn Hole. See www.happyhiker.co.uk/MyWalks/York...

By some quirk of #Yorkshire logic, Great Whernside is smaller than Whernside (of Three Peaks fame) (704 metres compared to Whernside’s 736 metres). It is the watershed between Nidderdale/Wharfedale & the walk along the ridge offers good views of both. See www.happyhiker.co.uk/MyWalks/York...
