It’s almost like we don’t even know what to say about the amount of money being given to ICE in the bill for fear that our friends and neighbors will all say, great we love that. I find it nauseating, like the fact that my country is doing this to people actually makes my stomach churn.
Waiting 25 minutes for food @tacobell.bsky.social I feel like the system should prioritize people who walk in and order over giant doordash orders but what do I know. Won’t bother again.

It’s nice to see the house back in session so they can waste their time voting on stupid stuff again. Unrelated Mamdani isn’t a socialist. They do know that right?

I have a feeling they aren’t going to be releasing any files about Epstein.

We could spend years demanding a list be released, or we could just believe women…

Hey so “underage girls” are…children. The word you’re looking for is children. They’re not like, women-in-waiting or women-lite or whatever. They’re children. I think some of you are very uncomfortable with what that means for you but it is still true.

I work with kids. And they are unmistakably kids, completely independent of where they are in their physical development. It is not necessary to imply that someone like Epstein was somehow less of a monster because of puberty.

It is true that there is a difference between someone who preys on prepubescent kids vs. someone who preys on postpubescent kids, but you need to realize that bringing this up every time we're talking about someone who preyed on postpubescent kids sounds a LOT like you defending predation of kids.

Like I dunno, maybe the reason it took a lady to break open the story of all the men protecting the dude trafficking underage girls is because the male journos were all emailing him making jokes about it?

A friend of mine responded to someone who posted with cynicism about the latest Epstein email:

"Whether the president is a child rapist can never be a moot issue."

We all need to sit with that sentence for a minute.

He will feed these guys but not children.
Scoop: Some financial industry execs have been invited to dinner at White House tomorrow night with Trump, including Nasdaq CEO Adena Friedman and JPMorgan Chase's Jamie Dimon, per sources. It comes a couple months after Trump hosted a dinner for tech CEOs on Sept. 4.  @cbsnews.com

Momentum builds for new leadership!
Now is the time to fight, not surrender. 🗣️

Schumer must step down from his post as minority leader and allow for new leadership to emerge—someone who is willing to consistently fight for the American people.
Progressive group MoveOn calls on Schumer to step aside
"Inexplicably, some Senate Democrats, under Leader Schumer's watch, decided to surrender."

We had an absolutely gorgeous fall day on Saturday. The sun was shining, the leaves on the trees were a variety of beautiful colors. I had ONE small thing on my calendar, a two hour morning rehearsal, and then, the day off! I made a corn casserole for a neighborhood event (yes, our neighborhood has events)--we had a chili cook-off, and while I did not enter a chili, I made a side dish.

We have protested. We have voted. We have made clear what we stand for. Shame on the Senate.
What is happening in the Senate tonight is a travesty and betrayal for every person who depends on ACA subsidies.

So all the people losing their jobs in this economy (which is yes, bad) will never be able to afford health care without them and will just die. Thanks democrats who also don’t care. We thought at least there was a fighting chance.

Are they seriously caving? Like why even bother having a party then? What was the point of anything?

Yesterday was a lovely fall day and they tell me it feels like 22 degrees outside now!? I am not ready for this.

So the oldest person ever to become president keeps falling asleep in his office during public events and there’s no big public discussion on how this is a coverup or how republicans are lying to us about how this government is running?

So it turns out... the US air travel system was incredibly, deeply dependent on federal funding to just run day-to-day all this time, to the benefit of private airline shareholders, when everyone thinks that state-run trains are leeching off the government. Weird!

Waiting for all the breathless coverage about the all the people of color shifting blue in this election, since the shift to Trump a year ago was treated like a colossal re-ordering of the electorate that signaled the end of wokeness and progressive politics.

The best part about Mamdani winning is we don’t have to hear about the NYC mayor election anymore!
November 5, 2025 at 4:05 AM
The number of people who are like, see, Mamdani barely won, progressive policies aren’t that popular…without acknowledging any of the other things that he and the people of NYC had to overcome for this victory. (Extreme racism for one, threats by the president, Cuomo continuing to run after losing.)

I better see no less than six stories this week in the NYT about Mamdani voters talking about their economic anxiety in Brooklyn diners and what the GOP can do to win them back.
