This Remembrance Sunday, we remember the brave soldiers who gave their lives or suffered for us in war.

Over 90,000 Gurkha soldiers served in the British Army during World War One, of whom more than 20,000 were wounded or killed.

We will remember them.

Chandan Shahi is a 10-year-old boy whose life was changed by an accident that led to the amputation of his left forearm. Despite initial struggles with funding for care, he found new hope when he discovered the GWT Specialist Outreach Medical Camp.

Yesterday marked the fifth day and final day of Tihar, also known as Bhai Tika.

This day celebrates the bond shared between brothers and sisters. Sisters apply a colourful tika to their brothers forheads offering a prayer for long life, health and prosperity.

It's a special time dedicated to honouring not only gods and goddesses but also the deep relationship between humans and animals, including the worship of the crow, the cow, and the dog.

Madan Bahadur Rai lives with is wife Suku in eastern Nepal. Madan served in GTR before being made redundant and returning to Nepal. Now, at 78 years of age, GWT are providing him with medical care for COPD as well as his monthly pension.

94 year-old Gurkha veteran Man Bahadur Gurung is the devoted father of 3 children, a son who is blind and 2 daughters with learning disabilities.

Thanks to your support, last year we were able to build him an Earthquake-Resilient Home and more recently provided a complete bedding set. 🙏

Our team recently visited Gurkha veteran Shree Prasad Rai at his home following his rehabilitation stay at our Residential Home in Dharan.

The team were incredibly impressed with his progress as they guided him through his therapeutic exercises, seeing him walk with confidence.

Earlier this year our team in Bhojpur had the joy of handing over a newly built Earthquake Resilient Home to Gurkha widow Guna Kumari Chettri.

"The pensioner was overwhelmed with joy and gratitude with tears in her eyes and a smile full of emotion, she described the home as a dream come true."

Earlier this month residents at our Dharan home marked World Alzheimer's day with a game of ‘whats inside the box’ a sensory game that sparked curiosity, lots of smiles, laughter, and wonderful conversations.
