Somebody yelled at me for posting about Ganymede instead of /the state of things/ last night.

I know we’re (almost) all on the same page here, but a Bluesky without cute cats, science facts, and dumb jokes would be bad for everyone.

Aging really hits you like a freight train sometimes. I just now realized how old I’ll be turning this year. Old enough that media considers it not young anymore. Please don’t. In my head I’m still a mix of 19 and 21 (and not in the good ways). Please

I was over on the old site. Speculations on the NASA Admin nominee and the thought he might be simply "Elon's Man." I'd like think Davenport is right, but I have to side with Tim Fernholz. For the sake of the US Civilian Space Agency, I hope we're wrong. twitter.com/wapodavenpor...

He took 'Earthrise' during Apollo 8 #OTD in 1968. Remastered here from the original flight film.

Going back home for the holidays reminds you of pasts you don’t remember. Luckily for me, this comes in the form of childhood schoolwork from 2005 that my parents didn’t want but couldn’t bring it to get rid of. Parents: teach your kids that Mercury is not red. I have no clue why I thought that
