A new study, based on a survey of 1,150 workers suggests that the injection of AI tools into the workplace has not resulted in a magic productivity boom and instead increased the amount of time that workers say they spend fixing low-quality AI-generated “work.”

AI ‘Workslop’ Is Killing Productivity and Making Workers Miserable
AI slop is taking over workplaces. Workers said that they thought of their colleagues who filed low-quality AI work as "less creative, capable, and reliable than they did before receiving the output."

Trans people are worth protecting. Not because we are amazing people (although we are) or because we offer a great deal to society (although we do) or because we are fine as hell (we are). We are worth protecting because we are HUMAN BEINGS, and it’s amazing how often that simple fact is forgotten.

What this means in practice is that 14K trans people will have to quit their federal employee jobs and find jobs that cover gender affirming care.

In other words, this is a purge of trans people from the civil service.

Lavender scare.

Everyone who participates is responsible
20 Aug 25 -- Trump admin quietly enacts new ban of reimbursement for gender related care through fed govt's largest health insurer regardless of age. 8m fed & 2m postal employees of which ~14k are trans -- will be affected. @rikiwilchins.bsky.social

The largest federal health insurance provider now bans coverage for gender-affirming care, but allows "faith-based counseling."

very cool how cis liberals value "can do a mediocre trump impression on the nazi social media app" over "thinks trans people shouldn't be sacrificed" when choosing political candidates

i wrote a zine about leaving omaha 13 years ago and i phrased it like i was breaking up with this city, ‘cause that’s how it felt at the time. coming back feels a lot like reconciling with an ex.
i’m back in omaha and feeling pretty good about it, y’all.

A thing not often mentioned here is one of the things OpenAI is trying to take away is community. Having experts beyond yourself — and professionals and friends and family and and and — means interacting with them, enforcing community. This attempts (poorly, thankfully) to diminish and destroy that.
OpenAI releases the newest version of the AI model that powers its popular ChatGPT chatbot, with CEO Sam Altman promoting it as like having a “team of Ph.D. level experts in your pocket.”

OpenAI says its latest version of the popular AI model is better at coding, more accurate and less deceptive than previous versions.

I said this to my friend last night and I think it's a good thing to think about:

If no one else, make art for your younger self. Make art of your ocs that your younger self would have dreamed to be able to draw. Make art that would make them keyboard smash an excited reply to. Make art for you.
