I like sailboats and manual transmission cars
Sigh, Ben Paris in Seattle. My go-to birthday restaurant for years, then after a tasting menu that was full of cheese-based dishes, had to move on.
I had that thing today where a place you used to love is suddenly not so good anymore.

It’s been my go-to for awhile. You know this kind of spot. A little happy place bubble.

One day you go and the food is off, the employees are younger/worse, and it’s just not good but it also isn’t *bad*.

This is real. A government agency calling Americans performing their democratic right of protest “imbecilic morons.” This Trump regime is a poison and never should have gotten power. A total disgrace.

I know so many Bari Weisses
it is almost as if someone was promoted beyond their ability
“I’ve been hearing that standards will be eliminated or severely cut back. Bari has told people that she wants to get rid of standards and is shocked that they have so much power. She also asked openly, ‘What’s the point of standards?’” one CBS source said.

Abolish the Senate. I am absolutely dead serious.
Shaheen: "We've heard from a number of our colleagues on the other side of the aisle that they're willing to come to the table, they're willing to work with us once the govt is open to get this done. We've heard the same thing from the White House. So now we'll see if they're really gonna work w/us"

Lol @ person at work yesterday giving a hype presentation about AI, talking about how great it was, and that it's "actually correct 80% of the time!"

Thanks Amelia
No one can tell me a single good use for it, for me. I have asked. Not a one.
What am I supposed to use it for? To summarize my emails? Too long, wrong. To write things? Too long, wrong. To plan trips? Planning is FUN and why would I outsource that? I played with it a bit six months ago, it was meh.

Also, I hate its enshittification of search results with my whole soul.

Relieved that voters resoundingly rejected this fascist bullshit.

Angry that we still have at least another year of it, probably another three, and that we're by no means in the clear.

Livid that it all could have been avoided if we had simply not reelected the asshole who tried a coup.

And I never even ask the parent, I just hold my hands out to the baby, expecting it will naturally, of course, also want to be held by me. It's a sickness.
I don’t know how many times I have to say this but here we go again.

If you are standing in arms reach of me with a cute baby, I am allowed and OBLIGATED to try to take that baby.

Every legitimate court in the nation recognizes this right. Please be for real, gatekeeping cute babies.
