Very excited about the new international X-ray mission being launched this weekend, XRISM! 🧪🔭 I just heard the launch has been pushed back from Saturday 26 Aug to Sunday, hopefully after I land in Namibia so I can watch it! Nervewracking but pls don't ask what happened to the last ones...jinxy...🤞🤞
Big ol' X-ray astronomy mission will be launching this weekend! Called XRISM, it's a Japan/US/European observatory that will observe high-energy events like stars blowing up, galaxies energizing gas aroudn them, and black holes gobbling down matter.
