For new folks joining, there's no Algorithm here, it's strictly who you follow on your main feed, so my advice:

* Follow liberally (by the time I see somebody a few times, I'll usually drop them a follow)
* Block even faster (life's too short to give your limited attention to assholes)

The EV adoption cycle is as follows almost always
1) evs are a fad
2) evs are fine but I’d miss the feel of a real car too much
3) I’ll try an ev
4) wait…I love this?
5) Let me tell you all about ev’s, friend

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

If this evidence ever sees the light of day, I want prosecutors, judges, and juries to see it, but I have absolutely no interest in viewing any of it.

If this ain't a common pattern...

How many times I've tried to explain things like a marginal tax rate that we already have or how basic parliamentary procedure works?

We need a better system. I want Defensive Driving for Democracy, a weekend refresher course every four years for each US citizen.
The biggest hurdle for PR isn't that it's too abstract or hard to explain. It's that "each party gets seats according to how many votes it gets" is how many people assume it already works! Isn't that just democracy? You have to explain that's not the case and they're instantly annoyed by finding out

An Antarctica story.

Once upon a time in Club 90 South, an inebriated apprentice from Wyoming revealed a family fact. One that, at other times, might be an amusing "degrees of separation" bon mot. However the key to wit and humor is not just timing, but reading the room.

He did not.

My successful public service loan forgiveness earlier this year feels more and more like it was the last helicopter out of Saigon.
BFD: The U.S. Ed Department is seeking to block public service loan forgiveness for people in cities/counties that resist the administration's immigration actions or its anti-DEI policies.

Public workers could be denied loan forgiveness if cities defy Trump, lawsuit alleges
A new lawsuit argues the latest changes to Public Service Loan Forgiveness could exclude public servants whose organizations have resisted President Trump's policies.

WTF, Chevy?! The wiper blade sizes in the *manual* are wrong! Page 303 says 26" driver, 26" passenger, 10" rear. I thought the driver side was a little long when I snapped the new one on, but the passenger wiper flopped off the edge of the windshield. 🤨

If Trump runs for a third term, I hope the Dems nominate FPOTUS Barack Obama to run against him. It wouldn't be great for the country (we need new blood and fresh ideas), but it'd make one helluva point. 😂

Basically Prop 50 for this insane third term idea. "Turnabout is fair play."
Obama: When he was asked to give the trump administration a grade, he said they deserved an A. These are the same folks who put secret war plans in a group chat. You don't think there's anything they could be doing better? No room for improvement?

Sometimes I imagine what living in a country that doesn't vote for a party whose electoral pitch is, "Vote for us! You'll suffer more," would be like. As a fun thought-experiment.

It doesn't have to suck. The suck is the product of policy choices by those we elected. We could just ... not do that
JD Vance: "The suffering is going to get a lot worse."

The courts had to step in and tell Donald Trump to feed the people. Let that sink in.

He was perfectly fine letting millions of Americans go hungry—in the middle of a shutdown that Republicans created.

Do what the judge said, Donald. Release the funds and stop playing with folks’ livelihoods.
Federal judge orders Trump administration to pay SNAP benefits out of contingency fund
The ruling came one day before funding for SNAP, more commonly known as food stamps, was set to lapse.

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

Some time ago I saw an artist say that folks often put a lot of effort into their work, and then post about it once. Which is such a shame!

Not everyone is awake at the same time, not everyone is online every day, and you put a lot of effort into it!

So go post your work again! Repost it again!
