It's going to be a long wait to find out if we make the nominee list next March 😅

It's weird how all the studies show that a 4-day week and UBI makes societies wealthier, more productive, and happier, but the RW govt types keep insisting on unemployment, austerity, longer hours, and shit labour rights

Be nice if I could go just one, ONE whole week without hearing how my disabilities are over-diagnosed and/or completely made up.

Or, failing that, anyone who wants to make that claim has to fight me first. Winner gets to decide if they can run the story or not.

Having Universal Basic Income would make it easier to walk away from terrible working conditions, abusive management, or, oh I don't know, refuse to follow illegal orders? Which is exactly why the people in charge don't WANT us to have UBI. A scared populace, a hungry populace, is easier to control.

Imagine, realising for the first time that you can just buy a thing and use it forever, no monthly subscription, no vendor-bricking, who on earth in this day and age would want such a thing? 🤷‍♀️😱

Sorry but "life being stressful" most definitely is an illness, which can be cured by universal basic income, a four-day working week, and eating I mean taxing the super rich.

Also, if it's not an illness then why are they handing out medication for it?
Right, but is it that we’re “forgotten life can be stressful” or is it that neoliberal capitalism doesn’t allow us to have natural, normal reactions to stress, so we seek treatment? www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Hundreds of GPs in England tell the BBC they are also worried about a lack of help for patients.

My dad abhors any negative comments about immigrants. Asked him recently why he’s so strong on it: ‘Because we’re always happy to take the rich and clever ones. Which means it’s not about disliking immigrants. It’s about disliking the poor and vulnerable. And that’s a bad human instinct.’
This is so disgusting.

A Dutch commentator perceptively observed: ‘The British are the only people who look back on WWII with pride and pleasure (‘our finest hour’). Everyone else was either occupier or occupied, and they look back with grief and with a steely determination never to let that happen in Europe again.’

'Beneath'

A quiet moment on the jurassic Coast, just before the rain swept in. I had a fifteen minute window to shoot this location. Grey skies soften the horizon, and a long exposure turned the sea into ethereal stillness. Broken only by a few stubborn rocks, refusing to disappear.

We didn’t have ADHD when we were young.
Well we did, but those kids ended up self medicating into therapy/addiction or in jail or dead after a lifetime of being bollocked for “misbehaving”.
