So funny story about just going for it, I saw Kara musing about a Magica Riot audiobook and just kinda took a shot via DM by sending my demo and asking if she'd be willing to work with me. And it worked out so well! I love getting to read her work and bring it off the page and into your ears.
Yes! Working with Emma on the Magica Riot audiobook was my first experience working with a voice actor. When I got audio back and heard all the fun, interesting choices she'd made in bringing the characters to life, I was DELIGHTED.

someone asked me literally yesterday if I could use AI for voice acting for Waifu Death Squad since there are so many speaking parts, and my response was "why would I want to do that? Working with actors is the fun part, because they'll surprise you with their line reads or dialogue tweaks."

The Target mandatory smile thing reminds me of being a wal-mart clerk in 2009 and dissociating so hard that a karen going “You need an attitude adjustment” barely brought me out of it. I go “What?” as she stomps off to tell my manager I didn’t look happy to serve her.

All of this! I've always had varied interest in the liberal arts, at times I've drawn comics and illustrations, done voice acting, and written stories. Seeing genAI encroach on all of these pursuits has been abjectly horrifying and I will always, ALWAYS be fighting back against its spread.
I will never use AI for my covers, editing, translation, or anything else. It is not only useless to me as an author, it is actively hostile and harms every skill related to book production.
If you're an author against AI used to generate writing, you better back everyone else in the chain too.

this is the heart of it. "you don't need dysphoria to be trans" is both axiomatic and a truism by virtue of the fact that framing transition around negativity is unhelpful when the joy of euphoria is far more notable.
