The constant bombardment of racism from blue-ticked engagement farmers was enough; deleted my twitter account today. Sad times - probably been on there for 18 years. Anywho.

I could write for a long time, and never produce an intro as good and, crucially, important, as @roberthutton.co.uk.

Some really very good Aldi products: Magnum dishwasher tablets; Greysons Gin (Ridge Valley Light Mediterranean Tonic Water rivals Fever Tree and is the pick of the tonic options); Four Seasons Skin On Fries; Bramwells Tomato Ketchup.

Well, this is very encouraging - there was a polling station in Luton yesterday.
🚨🚨Excellent and important news: The pro-EU Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) secured a majority in a pivotal #Moldovan election that is set to keep the country on track to joining the #EU amidst massive Russian interference campaign. 🧵

This is good, serious, common-sense stuff. Every serious party should now come out and commit to it.

For the first time in my life the social norms that kept a lid on nationalist fascist racism; that reclaimed the flag; have stalled.
The lack of actual vocal leadership for us to rally around - for the pro-democracy, pro-rule of law, anti-violent, majority - is now becoming an existential problem.

@davidallengreen.bsky.social Genuine question re Rayner - when I was an MP, all MPs tax affairs were handled out of a separate tax office (with an actual phone number you could use and the guy picked up, was helpful, etc). Is it conceivable they could/would have given advice if approached?

Props to my back, which, after 43 years of nominal operation has chosen *today* to render me completely horizontal. Completely vertical would have been preferable. Switching states not an option.

London please help. I’m praying for a miracle, I’ve just got into the office and noticed my mums locket (in all these photos) that I wear every day has fallen off my neck on my walk in. My mum died when I was seven and her jewellery is most of what I have of her. I’m devastated

Very sadly my smart, funny, creative and loving 11yo daughter lost her mum this week - with all the awfulness that entails.
We love watching films together and could do with some great recommendations for the coming weeks (non-animated, non-traumatic stuff we would all enjoy, any genre). Thanks

That thrilling bit of the snow curve where it’s all like ‘it’s snowing, it’s snowing!’ and before it’s like ‘oh look everyone’s abandoned their cars just outside our house and we’re pushing the Royal Mail van up the hill again’

Very nice plate (order one for two to share) of Pork and Clams at Tia Rosa, authentic and simple Portuguese fare in Kings Cross, yesterday.
Add a bottle of the Monte Cascas for £20 and you won’t be disappointed.

It’s clear that the most pressing implication from the Trump second term will be the need for greater UK cooperation with Europe and European institutions - defence, financial and political, both soft and hard.
It would be great to hear a clear articulation of this with an underpinning plan.
