I honestly have no idea if shutting down the government is a good idea, or if Democrats can win the shutdown fight. I am takeless.

1000 year boomerreich
People are focusing too much on the aspirations to immortality and not enough that “today 70 is just a child” and so by his own standards Xi Jinping is baby.

re rural hospitals: republicans see their constituents as non-college rural voters (the base) and democrats see their constituents as non-college rural voters (the base.)

We are not at war. Our political leadership has not yet chosen to declare war with the republicans, so we are simply being attacked.
We are at war. Period.

Don’t worry everyone I’m wishing for a massive wave of rural fentanyl overdoses for you
It gets tiring to constantly be asked to be the bigger person. I don’t wish for a massive wave of rural fentanyl overdoses or anything, but it’s just enervating to be clucked at and scolded for giving people the same energy they’ve given you your whole life.

Have the Chicago, Illinois, and National Dems actually explained to their constituents how they will prevent what's going on in DC from happening in Chicago?

I don't think you fully grasp the situation. If a happy-go-lucky serene person like myself can suddenly become libpilled and wishing a certain california attorney was victorious, then you have no idea what is coming

"3x+2=14" is illogical in its construction. If it is 14, then the 3x+2 is redundant, if not then what is it? This is where proofs of concepts are lacking. They are in Russell's terms orbiting teapot, yet to be proved beyond a linguistic conjuring trick.
‘Trans women are women’ is illogical in its construction. If they’re women then trans is redundant, if not then what are they? This is where proofs of concept are lacking. They are in Russell’s terms the orbiting teapot, yet to be proved beyond a linguistic conjuring trick.

Merrick Garland's actions against Trump were politically motivated, just in the opposite direction they should have been. He went out of his way to protect him in the name of "civility" and "restoring decency to politics." I wish nothing but suffering for him.

a lot of things that are happening are good opportunities for a hypothetical Democratic Party to take advantage of, so we often forget we just have democrats

One of the reasons Democrats should start publicly drawing up plans to hold people and institutions accountable NOW is that you need to give people at least some reason to think that collaboration will be punished and resistance will be rewarded.

It’s really just the kind of thing that lets Klein pal around with the conservative commentariat so he can ensure his NYT podcast has “balance.” Ofc there are a lot of things downstream of that I really think have made him just a less interesting commentator overall

The difference between non-art and art is that if it's art, it's morally acceptable to declare something bad for being cringe and tasteless.

Cool so what happens if GOP attach a national abortion ban to a CR? You'll vote for that too?

🚮
My YES vote is *not* an endorsement of this deeply flawed CR.

My YES vote is 💯 about refusing to shut our government down.

I refuse to punish working families and plunge millions of Americans into chaos.

I will never, ever, ever, ever, ever vote to shut our government down.
