Just my favorite… today, we are zooming in and out (in learner mode, teacher mode, and school leader mode) on the moves we can make to support place-based science education, especially using #AmplifyScience and UA resources like #AMNH. 🧠💪

In my happy place — #UrbanAdvantage Admin Breakfast #2 of the 24-25 school year! Always setting the bar so high… it’s a joy to be here with science supervisor colleagues. 🔬 🧪 👩‍🔬

It’s meaningful to spend the day in classrooms using a non-evaluative lens, being able to focus on deeper learning competencies from practitioner and student perspectives. Refreshing! Revitalizing! Necessary!! Already thinking about the next round + how we can carry this learning back to our depts.

So awesome to spend the day engaging in instructional rounds. Feeling fortunate to be surrounded by instructional powerhouses (my fellow APs and Principal), who remind me of all the interconnection between our depts and the work across our school. 🤝🙌💚

U.S. Students Posted Dire Math Declines on an International Test
On the test, American fourth and eighth graders posted results similar to scores from 1995. It was a sign of notable stagnation, even as other countries saw improvements.

GENIUS. Just shared this with my school’s ENL Team. We were just talking about the Unit 1 task for our new ENL curriculum yesterday (How-To Guides). How timely! Has a “for students, by students” vibe that would foster tons of interest/motivation, build on bkgd knowledge, develop target language. ❤️‍🔥
