#academia Hi! So question is When will I stop cleaning after my colleagues mess, fix their mistakes and re-do their job due to laziness in the #lab because I need that? not mentioning loss of time and effort which I have to spent for my work instead…

Jobin et al discover a second priming phase of CD8/DC interaction in the subfollicular LN area. CXCR3+ high-affinity CD8s can get IL-2 from "stop-and-go" moving CD4+ TCs, inducing affinity selection while Tregs mop up IL-2. in 🐭

Surprisingly, some LEP gene mutations tied to obesity may reduce body weight by enhancing leptin function.
A reminder that biology is rarely black and white.

Hepatic gluconeogenesis and PDK3 upregulation drive cancer cachexia in flies and mice - Nature Metabolism
In Drosophila and mouse models of cancer cachexia, Liu et al. show that tumour-derived cytokines induce hepatic gluconeogenesis, which in turn leads to dysregulation of metabolism and drives cancer cachexia.
