Completed my first overnight run this weekend, helping pace my buddy Stephen in the Deadman's Peak Backbone 100 miler. Recap: I was tired to begin when I started at 10 pm. My lights and gear worked fantastic. It got really cold. Witnessing the moon set and sun rise, gave me goosebumps. #trailrunning

The beauty floweth
And the wine runs thin;
Rome is burning
From the center again

The desert is quiet
The mountains are grim;
So too my redemption
Is emptied within

Time, the maker
And gravity the sin;
Risen from the ashes
Like dust in the wind

Boundless as the drifting leaves
Crawling on the wind

Pecos Wilderness near the Pecos River Headwaters. It's important to make sure wilderness areas stay wild. Grazing cattle are everywhere here, creating an environment influenced by man and going directly agaisnt the Wilderness Act of 1964. #pecoswilderness #keepwildernesswild
