Victims of other types of violence aren’t met with the same suspicion as SA survivors. I’ve never seen a hit-and-run victim be told “we’ll I need to hear from the person who ran you over to make sure you didn’t deserve it…”
People also love to frame evidence of abuse like they're a judge in a courtroom or a defense lawyer looking for holes. We're not in a courtroom. You don't treat other situations like this. You're perfectly fine jumping to conclusions about other things

Every woman journalist I know has a MeToo story we couldn’t publish because the legal risks were strangling.
full disclosure i’ve never personally reported on sexual abuse by famous men, but i know based on some previous experiences that it’s ridiculously difficult to publish allegations against someone who isn’t even famous because you want to avoid a lawsuit whenever possible

Also worth noting, the fact that Meta at the same time has changed their policies to allow women to be referred to as household items, rolled back diversity initiatives AND allowed anti-trans rhetoric on their platform showcase how racism, anti trans hate and sexism all come hand-in-hand.
